Newly single mum of 1 claiming tax credits for first time

Hi there, I've just done the gov tax calculator and requested a claim form. I'm a newly single mother to an 18 month old and looking to claim tax credits for the first time.
I think I might be really excited to be single based on what just appeared
Child Tax Credit
You could get £256.07 every four weeks
Working Tax Credit
You could get £230.20 every four weeks
This is based on household income of £14,400 / 22.5 hours per week.
Is the government actually going to pay me that amount of money every month for being a single mum? Am I being ignorant and possibly only entitled to 1 lot? Sorry for sounding so ignorant.

Unless you have childcare then that would be too high. More like £310 every 4 weeks in total.0

If you are not working you'll get the £64 per week CTC.
If you work more than 16 hours on a low wage you can get WTC (CTC is included in this).
Eligibility and amount payable is determined solely on income, not savings, although interest (haha) counts. Do you get any maintenance from a former partner?0 -

Op has said that the calc is based on working 22.5hrs and earning £14,400.
CTC is not included within WTC. The two are separate entitlements. You can get one or both. In this case, both.
Child maintenance is not income for TC purposes.0
