Beware Southampton airport parking charges

Just returned from 3 days to Ireland and parked my car in Southampton airport long stay car park. Pre booked and paid 44 pounds for 3 days.
At the car park there are signs stating that the charge for 3 days is only 38 pounds. Have emailed them and received a one off 10 pound discount as goodwill. Not sure how legal it was in the first place. The email stated it was to regulate the number of cars into the car park.

I very much doubt if there is anything illegal about it. And of course, for the £6 extra you were guaranteed a space, I'd imagine you wouldn't have been very happy if you'd turned up on the day without a booking only to find that the car park was full. If it was my business you wouldn't have got a penny back.0
