Anyone had trouble with their Hotpoint/Indesit dryer after the modification?

I own one of the Indesit dryers that had a fire safety concern. I contacted Hotpoint and they sent out an engineer who did a modification/repair in February. However, this week the dryer has started short circuiting. I called Hotpoint, who said that a repair only has a warranty of 90 days. They said that even if the fault was as a result of the modification, I would have to pay for a repair.
I would like to know if anyone has had any trouble with their dryer after the modification?
Also, what would my rights be? I bought the dryer in late 2012. If it hadn't had the modification, I would have contacted the shop I bought it from, as I expect a dryer to last longer than 3.5 years. But after the repair, does it become Hotpoint's responsibility and are they right to set a 90 day limit?

They are right, the fault will be nothing to do with the modification and be a separate issue.
You can still contact the vendor who you rights will still be with even after the modification. Due to the age of the dryer the burden of proof will however fall to you to prove the dryer is faulty though an inherent fault. You need an independent engineer who can confirm this, not an easy thing to do after 3.5 years.0
