Unfair ticket - council

I got a ticket on my car stating I had overstayed the 1 hour the sign stated. The sign in question was positioned OUTSIDE the parking box, against some double yellow lines.
I have appealed, but the council states that as the sign was NEARBY it still applied.
Is that correct? I thought the sign had to be within the confines of the parking bay.
Please help

Pepipoo is where you'll get best advice on Council tickets.
Read the forum terms of use and guidance first before posting. They need to see scans of both sides of all paperwork (redacted of personal/identifiable info) ... if you don't do this then you may not get help very quickly.0 -
