Private Banking Accounts, which would you choose ?

That's a little harsh, Esk, he wasn't bragging particularly, though the first sentence was a little uncalled-for, and he was on the topic of private banking.
It might have been more helpful if he'd said which bank was so good, though, it might have helped the OP, who wants one.0 -
Maybe you're right but the tone of the whole post seemed unnecessarily condescending and patronising to me, he didn't actually say 'you peasants wouldn't understand' but that seemed to be the subtext, especially at the beginning and end. That's a little harsh, Esk, he wasn't bragging particularly, though the first sentence was a little uncalled-for
But the topic wasn't "tell us how wonderful it is to qualify for private banking"....he was on the topic of private banking.
OP has three already and wants two less, not another one!It might have been more helpful if he'd said which bank was so good, though, it might have helped the OP, who wants one.0 -
Quick Question (As I seem to have opened a can of worms on another site so looking for feedback).
Please no emotional replies, such as why do you want one, why do you need to look posh, they are a waste of money, you can get more interest in a Vantage account etc, etc, I am just looking for feedback on the product based on your actual or Perceived view of the account or bank itself, so if you were told you now qualify for one of these, money is no object etc, If you had to choose between the following which one would you choose for your day to day banking.
Lloyds Bank Private
NatWest Private
Barclays Premier
Thanks for your help
Lord Sugar uses Lloyds bank private. I would go with Lloyds. The thing is that the accounts you have listed, are not really "private". Real private banking would be Adam & co and so on.
But if a guy like Sugar chooses Lloyds it says it all. I don't think I could stand to walk about with a snob Adam and co type card, "tried" it before. Even if I had a billion in the bank, no way would I bank with them.0 -
IMO They choose you, not you chose them.0

I know its none of the three you mentioned, but HSBC are a reasonable alternative ?Thanks

What about Handelsbanken?
I am not sure if they are classified as a private bank but you do get good service with a person to ring or email when you have a problem.
No fancy packages but the online service works well.0 -
I think the OP wanted to cut 2 out of the three he has.
Otherwise, as it looks the op should easily qualify, Duncan Lawrie would be a proper private banking option that did not require millions in assets the last time I checked...0 -

Not a private bank, but still snobs.
I tired to open an account and they would not entertain me because I did not work at a glossy place. How wrong they were.0
