Yodel tracking number?

What does a yodel tracking number look like?

I have a large parcel coming (hopefully today) that I bought off ebay.

The tracking number I've been sent is 2LGBXXXXXXX0*0000**

The X are my postcode and the * are numbers. The 0 are zeros.

Yodel doesn't recognise it (the whole thing or just the 8 numbers), and neither do any of the other courier companies I can think of...

I emailed the seller to ask if the tracking number is correct and they emailed back to say they'd scanned it off the barcode on the parcel, and it should be delivered today.

Is there anything else I can try? Or am I going to have to sit and wait indoors all day waiting to see if it arrives or not...

Have you asked the seller who the courier is? Some websites that sell you courier services cheaply, have their own tracking number. I have used some which although you can track on their website you can't on the website of the actual courier who delivers the parcel.

Turned out there were 2 barcodes on the parcel with numbers under them and the seller had given me the wrong one. The other one started with JD and worked fine on the yodel website. The parcel turned up when it was meant to so I'm happy
