SImple divorce vs financial settlement

Thanks everybody. We have agreed on finances, although we haven't had an official consent order made up because the costs seem to be quite high with local solicitors (up to a grand and a half) for the full divorce package. I was just wondering if going through a basic divorse now would complicate matters if things got less amicable in the future

I had my consent order drafted by a solicitor through Wikivorce, and it was much cheaper than this - £270ish from memory.

I too had one drawn up to by them. It was torn apart by the other solicitor and resulted in me having to employ a local solicitor to unravel the mess.

    Evening all,

Just going through the process and have the form to start the Decree Nisi application.

Is it at this stage I apply for the Consent Order, and secondly, how are the Solicitors via Wikivorce rated ? On their site, they advertise a Simple Clean Break for £159 and a Standard Consent Order at £259.

We have agreed financials personally, the mortgage is sorted and there are no children - so would I be looking at a Clean Break or Standard option ?

I have no problem with these costs, but clearly don't want to be ripped off more with something which doesn't work.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Cheers
