I don't know if tiredness is getting the better of me but I'm tying to set up a direct debit from my Tesco account for my Lloyds credit card but I'm not seeing the option anywhere. Only standing orders or pay a person.
Thanks

Only companies can set up direct debits, individuals can only set up standing orders. You will need to ask Lloyds to set it up.Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

Are you looking to use a Tesco current account to pay a Lloyds credit card by direct debit? If so, you'd need to set this up within the Lloyds card online banking, but I wouldn't have expected any reference to standing orders or paying a person there.
Or are you looking to pull money from a Lloyds (non-credit card) account into a Tesco savings account to fulfil a DD requirement? If so, do this by setting up a linked account within Tesco online banking ('move money in' option).0 -
Yes, you're doing it the wrong way round. Do you have Lloyds internet banking?
Go to More Actions > Paying your credit card > Set up or manage your direct debit0 -
I'm setting up a direct debit with my Tesco current account to pay my Lloyds credit card. (Just so I have 4 direct debits so I can switch to the Co-Op account. Yes I have Lloyds online banking but when I followed the steps the PP provided above it just says 'Please use the sort code and account detailed below when making a payment to your Lloyds Bank credit card;
Bank Sort Code Number: 77-29-00
Bank Account Number: 0000 0000
However I can only find the option on Tesco Bank to do a standing order0 -
You may be misunderstanding the difference between standing orders and direct debits - SOs are effectively used to 'push' funds from sender to recipient, whereas DDs are used to 'pull' funds.However I can only find the option on Tesco Bank to do a standing order
Therefore you set up a SO at the sender end but a DD has to be set up at the receiving end, so if you're wanting to get funds from Tesco to Lloyds you either set up a SO at Tesco or a DD at Lloyds, you can't set up the DD at Tesco.
As an aside, why switch a Tesco current account to Co-Op? The 3% interest on a Tesco current account is generally considered to be something worth keeping - if you're targeting the Co-Op switching bonus then you could do so by creating a sacrificial donor account (with Lloyds perhaps?) and switching that instead.0 -
You should ring Lloyds CC Dept and explain that you wish to pay your bill by monthly DD from your Tesco current account.
Lloyds CC Dept will set this up - you'll be advised to pay the CC bill by your normal method until your Lloyds CC statement shows that the DD to pay the bill from Tesco has been set up and is in operation.0
