Appliances for short term

Hi,

This might be one of my first posts. So apologies if I'm repeating a similar one - I did have a quick look...

I'm moving house in a couple of days, and our vendors are taking all the kitchen appliances with them. We don't want to get expensive new washing machines, dishwashers, etc as we will probably redo the kitchen at some point, but not for a while.

Question: what's the best way to get a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker and fridge for the short-term? (Unpredictable, but probably somewhere between 3 months and a year.)

I'd assumed renting but, looking at prices and people's experiences, it seems expensive and a bit of a nightmare.

I'd consider ebay but would rather find an option that involves professional delivery and installation (kitchen is on first floor; neither of us fancies plumbing in a dishwasher or washing machine).

Would welcome thoughts.

    Somewhere like http://www.noahenterprise.org/the-noah-shops/
You'll be helping a charity, as well as saving a few £$£$

You could even donate the items back to them, after you finish with them

Unless you're really set against freestanding appliances why not get good quality and keep when you upgrade the kitchen?

    Charity shops, eBay, gumtree etc.

Honestly, plumbing in a washing machine is so simple, it's not even diy.

I'd say eBay/Gumtree. I sold appliances on eBay when I moved as we had built in, and someone got some bargains! You can sell them when done. Watch a video of someone plumbing in a washing machine and reconsider. The harder part is moving/transporting it. If you really don't feel confident get a local handyman to do it. But it's worth learning how to do in case you need to check if ever the machine gets blocked or anything
