Seriously cheap car parking Gatwick

Hello All,

I thought I would share this parking that I have found, online the quote is £2 a day but if you call they will offer a reduced rate :-)

I haven't used it before however all the Gatwick car parks wanted an excess of £120 for my car for 16 nights in August.
I found an online booking page and it came to £34 however I called as I wanted to ensure its ok for holiday parking rather than a daily rate, she confirmed it was fine that it is locked at night so may not be any good for night flights.
I said I had the online booking and she said its not direct with us however if you are booking direct I can give you a better rate so £25 for 16 nights!

Fingers crossed its a all good for my car I cant find reviews either way, it looks to be just a regular car park about 5 mins from the airport.

Hope it helps someone

It's actually the old council car park in Crawley town centre located between the old Babcock building (hence the name I guess) and Crawley Town Hall.

Not really airport parking as it will still be a 15 minute drive to Gatwick, about a £12-£15 cab ride each way.

Crawley railway station is about a 10 minute walk. Two stops down the line to Gatwick at a cost of £2.20 each way. Not however an option if you have luggage.

It's cheap but I think your car will still be at the mercy of undesirables, especially if they work out that you have let the car there for some days.

I would suggest using one of the approved airport car parking operators.

I did think that however the current cost of the very cheapest parking for me for 16 days is £139.
Yes my car will get in the middle of crawly but that doesn't mean it will get robbed and if it does I have car insurance ;-)

Airport car parking prey on people being scared their car will be stolen.
But I recently used airport valet parking and on our return it took 2 hours for them to locate my car, in that time I meat 3 people whose cars had gone walkies.
Everyone else was subject to the long weight because we trusted "Airport parking"
If my cars fine even with taxis I'm £100 better off.

The key is an Approved airport operator.

Every year there are stories of cheap car park operators around Gatwick. Here is last months story

    Up to you of course.

There are good and bad. The cheapest won't typically be the good.

Thank you for sharing that link, I do think it's wise that people check where their cars are going.
On the company website they are listed as a member of the BPA and they also recently have the MarkPark award for high standard of secure parking, (Which Gatwick airport advocat as well)
Obviously I looked on both of these sites to verify they were members.

    http://www.parkmark.co.uk/car-park-finder (British safer parking)

So fingers crossed they are all good because let's face it, parking my car in the winter £3 a day in the summer holidays £10 a day my car is the same size year round ;-)

BPA approved operators, lol, think parking cowboys.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

Let the train take the strain!.......mind you, at the moment there ain't many Southern trains running.

    What about the parkmark?
Gatwick airport recommends parking with it and they are on the park mark list of approved parking?
Anyone have any advice on those?

I wish I'm miles away I live near Stansted the train costs more than parking.
I looked at the bus but it takes hours as there's no direct route.
    Taxi is £100 each way
Hotel with parking is cheapest option at £120
