COME ON GUYS AND GIRLS LETS KEEP UP THE FIGHT :j AND NOT GET DOWN IN THE DUMPS.:j ITS HARD AT THE MO FOR LOTS OF US BUT LETS KEEP GIVING EACH OTHER ENCOURAGEMENT . SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE WON AND SO WILL WE.
no surrender :D we will get our money back :A if we dont continue to claim then the banks have won :eek: :eek:

    ha ha its good to see someone so positive! Its easy to feel cr*p about the long drag ahead but if I could get half back of what I am owed I would be happy!

    Doesnt mean I'm not going to fight for it all though!!! :T :D

    HFC marbles credit card for charges and default (default is with ombudsman - charges I am doing myself)
    Halifax bank charges and PPI insurance on a halifax loan!
    Loads to do.
    I'm also claiming on a holiday but that's another story...!

    Halifax acc - £1460 in charges
    Halifax credit card - £279 in charges
    Mis-sold PPI insurance - £1979
    Total: £4593!!!!!!!

    Ive already won full charges back from Nationwide £5000 and cap one £700
    and have just started money claim online for Barclaycard
    dont know what is going to happen with that one but hope it goes ok. :rolleyes:
    also waiting on a claim from holiday insurence as stuck in Jamica due to hurrican so want compensation for that too not that im greedy lol

    May I please ask your advice. I wrote to my bank at the beginning of August having received all my statements for the last 6 years. I used this site to work out the interest and sent my letter and charges to them (Halifax). I received a letter back acknowledging receipt but they believe their charges are fair and lawful. They also said that now the bank has become involved in legal proceedings with the OFT, they have asked the FSA to suspend the normal timetable which the FSA has agreed to do. They have registered and stored my complaint. They also said f I choose to go to court they will ask the court to stay my action until resolution of the banks proceedings with the OFT.
    Is there anything I can do or is it just a waiting game until this decision is made?

    Keep it up. I was one of the lucky ones and got £7000 back from halifax a week before the test case was anounced. However, we can still get money back fro the credit cards, which the banks own, and in the last week have accepted £1096 from Marbles after threatening court action, and £1152.77 from Capital One (includes court costs interest etc)before court date was given. We can still hit the banks where it hurts with not only exhorbitant charges, but also interest rates.
    Halifax Bank - £8,724.57 (inc int)- MCOL - settled £7,108.00 (claim less interest):j
    Halifax Credit Card - £279.70(inc int) 1st request :rolleyes:
    Egg - £665.26 (inc int) - MCOL £749.97, by default :j
    Marbles - £1,390.54 (inc int), offered £0. 2nd offer £550, threated court for remainder, accepted £1096 (claim less interest) :j
    Capital One - £1,024.72(inc int), MCOL settled £1,152.77, (int+court costs) :j
    Creation - £375.55 - 1st request, settled £312.41 :j
    Barclaycard - £1343.27 - offered £366 - rejected threaten to court :mad:
    Sainsbury Bank - £ £1056.86(inc int) - MCOL :mad:

    I've sent another load of letters off today. HFC are fobbing me off about my default. THink I'm going to get them to issue a final letter so I can get the FO involved. Got to do teh charges myself so I've sent the final letter before court today.... I hope I'm one of the lucky ones who gets an offer!
    Just had my halifax cc statements too so I'm going to send the first letter for that tomorrow as well. Sent my halifax account card request for payment today as well. God knows how I'm going to keep track of all this!!!! Argh! :eek: :D
