Which email provider

I am looking to change email account. I am finally leaving Yahoo after another alleged security breach. What is the best free email account in terms of ease of use and security.

Surely Gmail ??! I find their Spam filtering system very efficient ..
Obviously secure, and always only one click away from a google homepage !

I've used GMail since transferring from Tiscali many years ago.
I also managed to keep all my old emails by using Thunderbird, adding both accounts and then doing a drag/drop to do the transfer. It takes a while but it does (did) work.

Sorry, thread hijack in progress. May be useful to the op though.

You just reminded me to have a look at my GMX account - last visited in 2012:eek:.

With gmail, when you create a filter rule, it can also be applied to messages already in the inbox. I can't see any such option in GMX though, and there's a lot of messages I'd like to filter out. Is there a simple way to do this?

I get mine via an email client, as I don't like webmail, and run the filters through that, so haven't been online for some time.
Just had a quick look and can't see any option to run on existing mail.
You could use Thunderbird to do it, that has a 'run now' option on it's filters.
