I personally have never booked thru the the rental company as I've heard some bad stories with "extra ad on's" when you get there.
We have always gone thru the a 3rd party like airline network or similar kinda sites when it comes to rentals in the US and things go smoothly every time ;)

The USA prices usually include all the insurance you need in the states, but the price is so low the warning bells are ringing unless you have been given a "special" as a valued customer. I would expect to pay twice that at least for 8 days in a 4x4 out there.

If you have booked it already can you not go into the modify booking section and see what it says?

I to have always gone through a third party

    Airlinenetwork
    yes
    carhire3000

    have all been good.

I always pay the premium pack which includes all insurances extra driver and full tank of fuel and would expect to pay around £25 to £30 a day for a 4x4, so yes that seems cheap.

I have always found that going direct with Avis etc there will always be extra insurances to pay...but I may be wrong.

I still dont understand how you are getting that price, you say it has doubled but my qoute was over double yours and I am getting the same price on travelzoo.com (uk edition) not sure there is a travelzoo.co.uk.

Are you def getting a qoute for 8 days in Nov becasue on the offer page it clearly states car hire for 1 week from £99
