Sickness whilst on holiday, can I claim 12 months after???

Hi folks, this is my first post on here! And it's a long one, lol!!!!

Booked an all inclusive package holiday to Menorca for August of last year (2015) whilst there noticed a couple of children being sick....didn't think anything of it at the time!!!! Also our 2 children then 5 and 2 had the runs a little but again put it down to being on holiday....eating and drinking differently. We returned on the 2/9/2015 and the day after my little boy started being sick....again my boy has always suffered with sickness so still didn't think it was linked with the holiday!! Then on the 6/9/2015 still being sick so took to him to out of hours doctor at our local hospital, who said he was fine and sent him home, next day my son was far from fine he was a poorly little boy and his eyes were sunken back into his head, so took to a different out of hours doctor who then referred us to the hospital (all on my birthday!!!) a many few hours later he was put on a drip and was in for 3 days, also my little girl was being poorly at home too but not as bad, eventually he recovered and was sent home. About a week later we received call from Doctor to say the cause of the problem was from Cryptosporidium (dirty water) obviously from pool or other source. Just wondered if I had any way of claiming compensation now 12 months on....the reason I ask is that a claims company has called and told me I can claim up to 18 months on but do not want to go through a claims company!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated even on where to start if I can make claim, many thanks.

hard evidence? did you report to a doctor and/or the holiday rep while you were away?
IMO you would be wasting your and everyone else's time if you tried to claim so long after the event and with such vague and unsubstantiated evidence.

these are doing the rounds in the same ways as the calls for the "car accident in the last 2 years", PPI etc
If you google sickness on holiday compensation you will find a load of ambulance chasing firms
Who would you be suing if you do not know where the source was?

There's no proof where it came from so who are you going to claim against?
