Yes, it's a very stressful time and it always feels like everything happens slowly but you just need to try to keep calm.

Have you got a solicitor lined up yet? It can save time if you have one pre-appointed so you can set them to work as soon as your mortgage is approved. If you haven't got one then it would be worth having a chat with some local firms to get an idea of their prices and ask for recommendations from friends.

I made contact with my solicitor earlier this week and she has contacted the developers (not sure what that means or why?)
I've been given a pack to fill in so she has all my details and I'm guessing that's so she's ready to crack on when she hears back.

My mortgage adviser has now gone on holiday for a week and a half, find that difficult as won't know about valuation tomorrow or may not hear about anything next week, aaagh!!

That sounds encouraging. A good and proactive solicitor will make all of the difference to keeping your stress levels under control.

Just be prepared to be buried under paperwork from your solicitor. You just need to keep on top of it but don't let any problems put you off.
  • Oh good!

Without jinxng my whole application we haven't had an awful lot to do since giving the paperwork to our mortgage advisor.

I really hope it continues that way. We got our decision in principle of the 16th July and it's just ticked over since.

Our valuation is tomorrow and I've been told if that goes alright we might hear back in a few days.. I'm scared to relax and trust it haha!!
