Parking around Odyssey

Hi All,

I'm looking to park somewhere in and around the Odyssey on a Friday. I work in the area some Fridays, so I'm looking for somewhere cheap to make it cost effective.

Thanks in advance.

  • I park in a car park on Corporation Street, under the motorway. It's around a 15 minute walk so perhaps a bit far, but at £3.40 for the day, it's very cheap!

Walking from the Odyssey towards the footbridge at Donegal Quay, how do I get to this car park?

You walk past the sorting office on Tomb Street under the bridge into the car park. You drive into it from Corporation Square, just past Direct Wine Shipments. It's generally full from well before 9am though Fridays are the best days for getting a space.

That's not the one I park in as, like you, I've found that it fills up very early. I actually park in one across the street from this on Corporation Street itself.

I'll check for this today, what is the exact location? I'm assuming this is beside the "big fish"?
  • No, the Big Fish is on Donegall Quay. If you google a map of Corporation Street the car park is on your left hand side under the motorway, before the turn off for Corporation Square.

If you are going to be parking early, then the carpark accessed from Corporation Square would be closer, but friends who work in the Obel tower beside the big fish just walk down Donegall Quay, walk across that car park and out the other side and then cross Corporation Street to the other car park.

I can rarely get a space in it after 9 either. Just to measure the OP's expectations.

That's very true. I'm usually there around 8.40 and it's busy with cars coming in at that stage. OP if you aren't going to be parking until later in the day you may find all the reasonably priced car parks are full with commuters. :o

I'd probably hope to be in before 8 am, the Odyssey appears to be £5.50 and that's for 8 hours.

That's actually not too bad price wise compared to a lot of the carparks. The Corporation Square carpark would be quiet at that time of the morning and the £3.40 is for 9 hours. I'm lazy and would pay more to be close to where I work if it was only one day a week...but that's not very MSE friendly!!! :rotfl:
