If your hastings policy has not expired you should be able to put your new car on cover with them until your policy ends

I didn't realise that. I was paying by direct debit and the settlement figure they gave me was the value of my car minus the excess and the rest of my monthly installments. I guess it's too late now?

Shouldn't be. How long ago was the settlement? (You have paid for the whole year, so would only face any extra premium your new car attracts)

Contact hastings and ask them to put your new car on cover and take it from their reply

    Why ?

A few weeks ago one of my sons' partner's car was written off outside her house in the middle of the night (CCTV evidence) and some years ago, my other son had his parked car written off by a car being chased, through a housing estate,by police.

Happened to me too years ago, outside my own house, car written off by drunk driver slamming into it while parked, no vendetta necessary.
  • That's gutting about the NCB. Atleast you've a decent quite for insurance now - that's all that matters at the end of the day.
