Flutterby, I went 10 days overdue with DD16 and I would have happily ripped people's heads off when they kept commenting "Haven't you had that baby yet". It is hard when you are so looking forward to meeting your baby and the little beggars obviously too comfortable where they are. I am sending you lots of labour vibes xxx.

Thanks dumpling. I'm not minding family and close friends asking, it's the acquaintances that are bugging me! People I don't speak to often but are all suddenly interested. I know they are all excited for me but it's still annoying. Though I'm equally annoyed that not one person from my normal work dept has been in touch since I went on maternity leave. I was seconded elsewhere on h&s grounds for 5 months, but still worked in the same departmental area and had work contact with them 3 days a week, plus lunch most days. Well done for yesterday.

Lainey - glad your mum has a diagnosis now, and good luck to her x

Deleted_User - Hope OH gets answers soon. I suffered with vertigo for 3 years, although it wasn't actually vertigo in the end. I had mucoceles in my sinus spaces which were causing vertigo symptoms. I had an operation to drain them which more or less solved the problem immediately.

Wet and windy here again, think the weather has forgotten it is August :rotfl:. I'm so bored of being off work now and not doing anything. Friends all work, OH is at work, family are nearby but I'm seeing them once a week at least so that's enough. I'm too achey to walk much so that rules out exploring or shopping. I don't want to watch too much tv (saving stuff for middle of the night feeds!), I've read loads. I have MW appt this afternoon so that will get me out of the house.

Me and OH have said we will go out tonight, food or cinema I think. Hoping he doesn't get stuck in work til 9pm like he did last night!

OS wise - laundry to put away, hoovering, leftovers for lunch.

Have a good day all x

    Morning all,

Wet and miserable here, day off for me again I need to have a good tidy round this morning then I am off to meet my old manager for lunch and gossip ! we go this every once a while and spend a few hours putting the world to rights ! On my way home I will pop into ASDA and get my weeks shopping we are running out of a lot of things, I cant put the dw on this morning as we have no tablets !

Will get something for dinner tonight and something to take to mums for dinner tomorrow, she has had a large car bill in and is struggling a bit so I said I would take dinner round.

We are looking for a holiday cottage for Cornwall / Devon but Like Tru have left it a bit late, we need four bedrooms and to be able to take three dogs, ideally one of the bedrooms needs to be downstairs ! I think I have found one but am waiting for them to email me back.

Lainey hope all goes well with your mum xx

    Have good days all xx
  • Good morning everyone,

A later entry from me than usual. Was busy handing my notice in!!!!

Long story short; I've to work my 4 weeks notice then shortly after I'm on holiday for a week then it'll truly begin.

Yesterday evening was a night of badminton and good food and lots of in-depth discussions about my career, so confident I made the right move.

Today I've a training course at 1.30 then not sure what the plan is, hopefully manage the gym for a quick session.

    Dumpling - Huge well done!!!
Lainey - Hope everything goes ok today

Sending positive vibes to Lainey and her Mum.

The builders are busy in the back garden and I am trying to sort through and empty another couple of large boxes. I have sorted out one with candles, tea lights and matches and am decanting into empty shoe boxes and labelling them clearly. The integral garage is starting to look a lot emptier and I am hoping to use the broken freezer and the old wardrobe for storage so things are out of sight but still findable.

Popped down to shops and had a bacon butty for lunch and will roast a chicken later which should do me for the next few days either with salad, SW chips or in a curry type recipe.

I need to sort through things while builders are here as the local charity shop is still closed and they have offered to drive stuff away for me which is a big help.

Well done on standing your ground and you are right about not going back to square one.

    Hugs to all.

  • Well the news was not good when I got to the hospital, OH appears to have had another small stroke, it affected his arm and leg at first, but his arm rapidly recovered. His leg however he is still unable to lift it off the bed more than an 1".

He has been for a CT scan and also an EEG. I am going in late afternoon tomorrow, want to speak to the Drs and see what the tests showed. Twice whilst he was having the EEG he drifted off.....did not respond to calling. When I left he was eating his lunch.

I am exhausted......Decided to cancel the trip to France next spring, we will have to stay closer to home.

Oh dear - how awful for your OH csarina - I hope he feels better soon. At least you know he's in the best place even if it doesn't stop you worrying.

My day has been odd. Sunny morning and very drizzly afternoon. I decided to drive up to Oban so got into the car and headed out, only to find that the road was closed as there had been a nasty logger lorry crash in the next village. There's no other road so I headed the other way to the nearest town, bought some lamb mince and diced steak, had a little walk and came home. I've put the lamb in the freezer as it was already frozen and have made the diced steak into a lovely korma.

Three sets of lost tourists stopped at my door to ask directions, I meet such interesting people that way. One couple from Denmark were hoping to cycle to Fort William with two young children in a bike trailer. I put them off going on the main road as it's very hilly, very winding and very steep, meeting a huge logging lorry coming the other way on a right hand dog leg bed could be fatal. Anyway, at that point the road was still closed so I directed them to local sites to visit near to the closure signs, at least then they will see when the traffic blokes leave.

Did my online banking so that's sorted for the month. Did some other bits and pieces for work and now stopping.

So sorry to hear about your OH Csarina, what a worry for you, please take care of yourself in all this.

Mum had a call from the hospital this afternoon, they are bringing her back in tomorrow morning for a MRI scan so not sure if they think there is something else going on, guess we will find out tomorrow.
I cooked her some tea but she only picked at it, she stayed at home as wanted an early night so not long got home.

Work was awful, huge row between my supervisor and another member of staff, the place is toxic and I need to get out :(
Could do with an early night myself, night all x
