Hi,
Does anyone know the precise rules about deducting childcare costs when calculating your income for Carer's Allowance purposes?
Basically, what happens if I'm receiving help with childcare through tax credits? Does that mean I can only deduct 30% of the childcare?
Thanks!

I think that these child care costs refer to childcare you use whilst doing your caring - i.e. they wouldn't be covered by tax credits as these would be for when you are in paid employment.
Give this organisation a call to check:

you can only deduct care costs from your earnings, for either the disabled person you look after or dependent child/children under 16 that you are entitled to ChB for. Also you cant claim them as a deduction if its a close relative you pay.0
