is anyone aware of a phone bill scam where it shows on your telephone bill that you have called 118 822 when you haven't actually called it?

Is there someone in your household who could have called it.
Or could you have called it and forgotten.

They dont add these calls on to your bill for nothing to be honest

Do you ever call a Reading number starting 0118 822?

Accidentally omitting the leading zero would have that effect.

Have you had engineers working on other people's lines in your immediate area?

When looking for a free/unconnected line to fix a fault, some engineers test the line by calling the speaking clock, directory enquiries, or some other number instead of the (free) test number.
