New windows who to approach?

I have bought a 3 bed mid terrace in need of some tlc. One of my priorities is the back extension
-kitchen to be ripped out
-kitchen replastered (possibly repalster bedroom above kitchen too)
-re-render the extension (old rendering failed, much repair been attempted but needs completely redone)
-put one new wimdow in on wall where there are two...
-replace other back of house windows with uPVC/equivalent (even though I love wood!)

I know it is a builder I approach for most of the jobs, but a little/very confused on who does what re: windows. A glazier? A window company? The builder? A combination?

One of the things builders do when building, is to put in windows. It is not rocket science many of us DIYers have installed our upvc windows and doors. Take your pick, local window company or builder.
You would be surprised how many people don't know that a glazier works with glass.

Getting builders in can be very iffy, ask around friends; relatives; neighbours, maybe ask at the Council if they have a list of approved tradesmen.

Builders will put in windows, but they'll subcontract the actual manufacture to a window firm, and you might get a better result by making your own choice of window firm and/or profile manufacturer - then tell your builder what to get, so he buys it and can't complain the size is wrong.
