Room In Blackpool

Hi. Bit of a long shot this one - but you never know.

I know it's very last minute and it's also peak season. But I'm trying to find a single room/bed for this coming weekend in Blackpool (not top hotel prices - as it's basically just a sleeping place I need as I'll be out most of the time). According to the usual search engines - the whole place has completely sold out.

Could anyone recommend a good room search that searches available dates across all the various accommodations - hotel, guest house, b and b etc? Or a local number I can call (I tried the Blackpool tourist office - but it's constantly busy).

Or maybe you're from that area and can recommend somewhere?? As I heard many of the smaller family run places might not even be on the internet.

Many thanks.

have you tried hotels.com and similar sites?

How much are you wanting to pay? Are you wanting Friday to Monday, or Friday to Sunday, or what?

Are you travelling by car, train etc? ie do you need parking?

Friday (3 nights). On foot. Basically I just need a place to sleep - not bothered about comforts.

I've tried all the usual suspects. The problem is that budget is tight. Only one I could find was over £120 a night or was several miles away from Blackpool.

Did you not try the link provided on your other thread to SmoothHound?
The Grays has one room left...£180 for 3 nights..may be gone by the time you check...as pointed out there is a lot going on in Blackpool this weekend so accommodation is scarce...accommodation in your budget...very scarce/gone

I know. There seems to be about 5 festivals of some kind on. I did think August would be busy but not this busy:eek:

The Grays didn't show up on the search I did last night.
I do wonder how these sites work - it seems that some websites have a certain allocation of rooms then when they sell out the place is listed as being sold out - when it might not always be the case. Booking.com appears to be one of the worst.

It's not looking good so far. Camping in Stanley park?

I provided a name of a hotel that was available, on your budget ,at 7.30 am , which you must have seen, with breakfast included, and got 5 rating on tripadviser..where are you going with this?

Yes, thanks. I tried that one this morning - around 10.30am - directly via their own website and it was booked up.

Also just to add that most of the searches show a price and availability. Yet when you actually click through it changes completely to not available on your dates and/or the price jumps by 200-400%.

So what is being advertised as 'available' isn't quite what it seems.

when I gave you the Grays it was definitely available...when you "check price" for one it appeared to do a re-search and came up with a handful of places in Blackpool but only one in your budget (could get through to the personal detail filling) unfortunately you appear to have missed that one too and there are now none showing in your budget...if you are determined to go this weekend with your budget you need to jump on anything you can find (many are refundable if something better comes along)
