Replacing laptop for work - which of these is best?

My Lenovo G560 needs replacing. It died last night. I need to replace this so I can continue to earn a living.

I have been looking for a new laptop and would like feedback as to the best option. My priorities are:
14-15" screen
Business keyboard that can cope with 60000 words being typed six days a week, so computer is used for typing 8 hours a day and research for 3 hours (PDF documents, web pages)
Good memory to save open office documents.
MS office would be great, but not essential
And I still want to watch the odd YouTube video.

No Gaming, video editing ...

These are my thoughts. Budget is low as I work overseas and earn local wages (16 GBP per 8 hour day)

My sister will bring the laptop from the UK next week. I have no access to shops.

Any help appreciated.

I would bet that none of those laptops have a "business keyboard" - they are all budget laptops with little, if any, business-grade reliability.

On the other hand, as you state budget is a priority, you could still get one and add a decent USB or Bluetooth keyboard.
  • Thanks for the replies. I am not sure what is wrong with the laptop. It powers up, but when one drive launches there is a script error and everything freezes. It started to go wrong when I was on a Skype call. I wasn't touching the computer when suddenly in the text box on Skype the numeral 0 just kept appearing and I couldn't stop it from creating lots of lines of 0s. Of course that was the end if the Skype call. I rebooted and the same thing happened when I was in the signing in page just a constant string if 0s
  • I know it's not a virus. But I also know that open office isn't the most recent. I have all but two documents saved on one drive, but now I cannot work on anything, because 0s keep appearing and then the screen freezes!
  • Thanks for the heads up on the Toshiba. I good idea to have a wireless keyboard and mouse. Really appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. Sorry for separate replies, I can't do paragraphs on this phone!

Sounds like you might have a stuck key on the KB. Possibly zero or letter O key.

Note the video is for illustration, your keyboard may differ.

  • Fightsback, you are a Star😁 And thankfully it was the first 0 key that I removed that solved the problem. I, and those waiting for the reports, are relieved and very happy. Thank you to all who replied, all help appreciated and I'll be prepared should I need a new laptop in the near future.

    And thank you again Fightsback
