Missing return, refusing refund

Hi all,
My wife purchased two dresses from Quiz but they arrived too late thanks to their amazingly slow postage. She sent them back as soon as they arrived but now they're saying they never received the return and without proof of postage, which she didn't get (return was free) there's nothing they can do. We feel robbed, they've taken £140 from us for nothing with terrible service right from the get go. Chances are this is another mistake from them and the dresses are probably somewhere in their warehouse. Is there anything we can do?
Thanks!

There appear to be a few ways to return to Quiz
1) By Post - "Then simply take to your nearest Post Office, please ensure that you obtain Proof of Postage when returning"
2) to store
3) Collect+ (tracked through process)

I expect you are correct and the parcel is in their warehouse somewhere but you without proof of postage you will be waiting till they come across it0 -
As above, if you did none of the 3 options then no one is to blame but yourself.0
