That is what this board is for 'advice'. Just because some people on here are old hands lets not forget when we first started out.
All the best

ym I don't think clapton was shooting down in flames. I think he was pointing out that if the bank don't know the circumstances will change and the payments will go up, then they are not likely to be happy about repayments being £1 a month
Newlywed at the point I joined the forum... now newly separated0 -
Hi Loafer,
don't despair! as an ex Lloyds TSB worker(don't shoot me) they will take money from your Lloyds TSB bank account to pay your debt with them ( I assume you have a bank account with them?) So if that's the case you should perhaps think about getting another bank account to have your money/wages put it so they don't try and snaffle all arrears & payments in one go...
Then you can just pay them what has been agreed and what is affordable to YOU not them.Everything always works out in the end :beer:0 -

I see what you mean newlywed. I have just re read the post and maybe i was a bit hasty. CLAPTON When you get to this post after my previous one i am sorry if i jumped to conclusions but i just read and then posted instead of reading, digesting, understanding and then posting.
Lesson for us all.

I have a lot of dealings with Lloyds TSB as I am a debt councillor and I find they are very reluctant to accept any offer of repayment and usually we have to wait until Lloyds sned the debt to BLS Collections (who are part of Lloyds TSB) and these usually accept the offer being made.
As the OP originally said, Lloyds will not stop adding charges until they have defaulted the debt and it has been moved to BLS.I am a debt counsellor working in the voluntary sector - we don't charge our clients for the work we do!0 -
I deal with Lloyds all by letter because they are useless they cocked up our three accounts so much I got a refund of interest, case of wine and lower amount accepted for a year.
Just reading what others have said I guess that is a minor victory!
You get there eventually with them but deal in writing they have so many departments writing to you they make so many mistakes one says one one says another and in the end you can formally complain and almost force there hand to accept.
keep sending what you offered every month with a letter asking them to freeze interest as you want to pay them off as quick as possible, keep copies of everything and don't get down about it - get even - eventually!0 -
bloody hell. i just wrote a really long message and my internet crashed!!! I cant remember what it said now!!!!!0

ok ok ok .. i partly remember.. I definately thanked YellowMonkey for acting as bodyguard! Apprecated, though I didnt take what Clapton said as any sort of criticism. CCCS havent called so I will expect them to tomorrow - I hope. Thanks to those who commented on LloydsTSB experience! I appreciate that. At least I know that they MIGHT play things my way in a few long long months!0

I have an account with Lloyds and had to wait until a CCJ was issued before I could argue in court that I can only afford to pay them 4 pounds per month. Am working with the CAB.Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:0

Wow really? Sorry to hear that. I hope that was the exception rather thn the rule for Lloyds but thats a tough break. I am really hoping that I they will be sympathetic with me if my income is increasing as drastically as it is in the next few months.0 -
Loafer - I wouldn't necessarily call Lloyds tomorrow, I would speak to the CCCS first, whenever you are due to do so.
However, if you do call Lloyds, do not be pushed/cajoled into promising you can pay more.
The point of going to the CCCS is that they negotiate for you and, once you have your job, you will pay them and they will disperse your money fairly.
Once your DMP is up and running, be prepared for calls from creditors but be patient and polite and explain you are with the CCCS, making payments, and can they please only contact you in writing. After a while, they catch on that they cannot get any money from you direct.
We are on a DMP and are 6 months into it - we had no calls other than Hellifax and even they stopped 2-3 months ago. All bar one has stopped interest. I would advise you to get a parachute account though, to stop your bank taking your earnings directly.
It is bliss to know things are under control and we have more peace day to day than we have for years.
Don't get me wrong, money is tight, but at least we are doing something about it.
Good luck, any questions - shout
