BA to Venice

Tried to see if I could book Veggie for the flight to Venice. Cannot see the option.
Are there any refreshments provided and if so how can I book veggie as on line, it does not appear.
Travelling in the cheap seats possibly does not help.

Thanks

It's a short flight, I'm not sure if they will provide anything more than drinks and a snack of some sort (which would not have a veggie option).

If you think you will need something to eat on the flight I'd suggest getting a sandwich etc after you go through security (loads of shops airside at Heathrow and Gatwick).

Enjoy - Venice is a beautiful place.

More MSE to bring a snack from home: you can bring most food through security, but not things that count as liquids (so don't bring a pot of jam, for instance).

I think a choice is offered between a meaty flatbread or veggie salad pot and a drink.

For VCE this falls into BA catering Band 3.

In Y (Euro Traveller) it's only a light snack and it can vary depending on the time of the day. Anything from a small 20g bag of crisps to a small panini style sandwich.

For a breakfast time departure it is likely to be a filled croissant. A vegetarian option is available.

For lunch time departures it could be the panini/sandwich or a vegetable/salad "cup".

Late evenings and you will get the world's smallest bag of crisps - or a cookie.

I would take your own vegetarian option on board to be sure.

We fly BA quite often and on a flight of this duration there will certainly be a complimentary food service. There is usually a sandwich or wrap, and there will certainly be a vegetarian option. You can also have drinks as you wish. There are no petty restrictions. I have never been served anything less than this on BA, certainly not a bag of crisps.

On our flight back from Warsaw a couple of weeks ago I had the chicken & bacon roll which was accompanied by a caramel muffin. I had a gin & tonic plus a cup of tea. When the trolley service had finished I went to the galley at the back and asked if they had any veggie option left. There were plenty as usual. It was a very tasty bean salad. I have found that the veggie options on BA are often better than the meaty one.

Don't be afraid to ask on BA. The cabin crew are trained in a very different way from the budget airlines.

As others have said, this is 'a brew & a butty' flight, and there will be a non-meat option. If you're lacto-ovo vegetarian, you will be fine, as it's sometimes cheese.

That said, I always get something from Boots airside (particularly the Mexican bean and cheese wrap) because the last three meals I've had on BA have been so over salted that they were inedible to me, but my OH scoffed them.

In BA short haul economy for this flight you can't book veg meals in advance.

If you are seated towards the rear of the economy cabin, it's worth telling the crew when you board that you're veggie, as the veggie option can run out quite quickly (they don't offer it to anyone, but once one person asks, others tend to follow if they like the sound of it). They might remember that you asked and save you one, though if you really need to eat on the flight, I'd probably take something as a backup.

I just love those Mexican bean wraps. Bought as a meal deal it would sort you out. I never depend on airline food being much good, even on business class

You're a band 3 flight. Answers to the standard bit in the link below.
