GMAC PPI Claim

Options
Hello everyone, I'm sorry in advance for this question, I know it's been covered plenty of times over the years. I had PPI with GMAC for Vauxhall astra I purchased in Sept 2006, I've still got all the paperwork.
I haven't done anything about claiming in the past and I don't want to use a claims company and with GMAC no longer trading, I don't know what to do, what template letter (if any) to use and where to send letter of complaint. Any advice would be greatly accepted!

You send a letter to the dealer with the details of your complaint (e.g. if it would not pay out due to your job) and the evidence you have (e.g. copies of work benefits that would cover your payments if you were ill)

There are no valid template letters as each case is unique

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

As Nasqueron says you need to complain to the dealer - this is because they are the ones who sold you the PPI and you presumably wish to complain about the sale of the policy.

Incidentally GMAC are still trading - https://www.uk.gmfinancial.com/Pages/index.aspx
