Which Credit Cards have the bigger limits

Hi I am looking to start up a business and need a credit card.

Can someone please advise which companies normally give the higher limit. I know it's down to each person but there must be some that normally have higher limits.

I am looking for around 7-10k

Thank you

    MBNA are anecdotally fairly generous.

Tesco Bank surprised me with an almost £8k limit. Mind you it is a bog standard card rather than one of the 0% cards. American Express is usually pretty generous as well.

HSBC is on the other end of the scale, tending to be more risk averse.
  • Tesco Bank, Barclaycard, MBNA and HSBC have all given me high credit limits (£7500-11000), based upon an annual salary of £45000. Lloyds did too but I bank with them, so I'm not sure whether they are always so generous.

MBNA, Barclaycard, Natwest all gave me limits of around 10K to start with.

    Others gave me lower limits.

Of course my circumstances weren't exactly the same for each application.

There's a bloke from Nigeria who was offering loans of up to $10,000,000 yesterday on here.

I can pass his details on if that will help?

That's funny. I got a mate in Nigeria who has been trying to give me $1,000,000,000 for the last 20 years or so.

Awfully nice of him .... I just don't have the heart to take it ... he keeps offering though .... bless him.

As for OP question, I think its a bit pot luck for the highest ... MBNA usually good but I'm always slightly bemused at the credit limits I get. There is no pattern it seems and its a bit like opening a Christmas pressie to find out what the credit limit is for each successful application.

Back in the day I have had credit limits of £20k with MBNA - since 0% has made a comeback £10k seems to be the highest down to £2k.
