Good morning, though it is not all that good hereabouts, it is dull and overcast. Still, it is not raining.

Last night my OH cooked and he made the most delicious moules marinieres, with crunchy french bread, followed by brie and I brought back some baklava type cakes from the nearby Iran Ian bakery. Not exactly OS and nor will tonight's meal be, though not too bad really. I had a job to do in another area of the city and OH dropped me off, to get there and return he drives through one of the inner suburbs with a predominantly Asian population so most of the shops offer a great range of interesting things. So this evening we will be having samosas, pakora and salads, and I will make them some tandoori chicken to go with it. And some form of vegetable dish, not sure what yet. I can make samosas and pakora too but it is quite time consuming and they are very inexpensive to buy. Also, the filling tends to escape from my samosas.

My contribution to OS today is toasting a bit of leftover bread for breakfast, waste not want not etc. And I think there might be some hummus left for a sandwich later.

I need to work again today but paperwork at home, don't have to go out.

I was taking two days off this week but that is not happening now as have been asked to accompany a new member of staff on a job which will be contentious. And have jobs to do on both of my 'real' days off. Those two are part of a specific task to be done in my own time though, so will be paid a fee.

I was going to have to cancel a visit to a friend today, judt pressure of work, but she has gone away for a weekend - she is away most weekends in summer. I am glad she has cancelled as it means I don't have to, though that seems a bit not quite right, somehow.

JackieO your sister's party sounds great, sorry to hear of the poorly person, hope he recovers well.

I do enjoy the doggy news, as I am dog-broody and have been for some years after my little dogs died.

Dumpling, I hope you will feel a bit less anxious about the wedding as it approaches.
Hope everyone has a good day
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

JackieO I'm glad the surprise party went well - hope the poorly man is ok. I must admit, if anyone pulled the "surprise party" stunt on me, I'd kill 'em, but then, I don't really do gatherings of any sort. Horses for courses, eh? ;)

I was supposed to be having a quiet day today but my friend rang yesterday to tell me she was coming over for a few hours this afternoon. Unfortunately, she sounds quite unwell again making up stories about her past and her family. I usually just smile and nod when she starts but I have the girls here today and I don't think her stories are very appropriate for them to hear. It's a difficult one.
Dumpling sweetie, call her, cross your fingers behind your back, and put her off. Tell her you're awfully sorry, but you've double-booked yourself, and today won't work for you, or something like that. Your girls come first, and if she's likely to say stuff not suitable for their ears, best if she doesn't come today. x

I need to pry Mr LW away from the pc at some point to take Fidget outside in the garden while I vacuum - she dislikes the vacuum cleaner, and will kick off if she's inside while I do it. She's a lovely dog though, very biddable generally; she's fast asleep on the sofa as I type, so I think the vacuuming may be in a while. ;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon,
I have been for a lovely walk with my OH well I was on my Mobility scooter.
I have not had it for very long so just getting used to it.
Its lovely here blue skies and sunny. We walked around the village there were few stalls selling cakes and bread in the square. We bought a lovely cheese crusty loaf which we will have for lunch with some salad bits. I have 2 bags of clothes to take to the CS tomorrow.Still working on our bedroom going through the wardrobe.
  • ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Late today. I went out early this morning and was at the hospital before lunch. OH seems a bit depressed, but he did not sleep well last night. He is hoping to come home soon.

Went to the fabric warehouse, I did but some fabric, but did not spend a lot. Was not really impressed with the sale stock.

Went to DD2's for lunch, Lidl and home. I am shattered, driving in to the hospital every day is sapping my energy and my purse, but I do not want OH home until I am certain I can manage him.

Have just sold the halogen cooker we bought for the caravan 4 years ago. I never really got on with it. I did not like the way it cooked. I just have the new caravan toaster to get rid of.

Was disappointed my machine did not sell, might put it in the local paper. I need to get rid of it. At the last count I had 3 machines.

Hi Chums I popped into see my sis-in-law before I came home and all she had heard so far was they were going to keep him in for some tests.

Went to Westgate with DD and the boys and the little dog and it was a beautiful day slight breeze blowing but lovely and sunny around 22c and just the right temperature for me :)
Got back to DDs around 5ish and my son-in-law had fired up the BBQ and we had a nice meal and a lovely salad.(Son-in-law isn't that keen on too much heat at the beach ,although he is fine when we go to the IoW on holiday)
I have a feeling he is happy on a Sunday just puttering around indoors having a bit of peace from the tribe :) plus he has his coursework to keep up with as he is doing a civil engineering degree part-time.

Next Sunday DGS Ben will be home from his extra months work in Norwich and will be at home until he returns to Uni in September

Right I am going to put my feet up and have a bit of a read as I want to finish off my Bill Bryson book The Road to Little Dribbling, I love Bryson he has such a dry sense of humour :):)
    Cheers chums

    JackieO xx
