virgin credit card help?

Hi,

Sorry, i have gone through the boards and cant find anything on this.

I basically have a virgin credit card. I took it out 2 months ago but i would prefer a lower money transfer fee credit card. I had a 9k limit and have paid back around 8k. I can easily pay off the rest but im thinking would i be able to apply for a money transfer card with virgin straight after?

I have done a soft search and currently i can get an mbna card no problem but virgin has a 0percent chance as im guessing its because i already have one with them.

I called up virgin and asked if i can chance my card from the 4percent money transfer fee to a 1.69percent money transfer fee but they said no. The agent also said they normally advise to wait 6 months before applying again for a virgin credit card. Anyone know what i can do to get the 1.69percent virgin credit card? Its such a good deal but i cant get it at the moment!

Any help?

The repayment history of the card you obtained two months ago is somewhat unusual. You have paid a 4% fee for a money transfer of over 8k then virtually repaid it in full within 2 months? Now you want to swap the card for a card with a lower fee to make another money transfer?
I think you should cancel your existing card then wait the six months as advised then apply again and see you are accepted for the card then.

Thanks for the advice. Probably sounds like the best option.

I basically needed an advance on money. I knew nothing about cards and got confused with a balance transfer and money transfer. So basically i thought the balance transfer at a 0percent fee was a money transfer. Silly me, so i got stung with a 4percent fee.

    Oh well, lesson learnt!
