wedding insurance and claiming

Hi everyone,

Wondered if you could help. I'm getting married 25th November, the photography company I booked has gone into administration and has contacted me. It's bad but glad I'm insured and the place had the decency to ring me and tell me.

I have wedding insurance and reading the policy documents i am definitely covered for this providing I can prove i had a contract which I do have, and the company are also posting me a copy. ( I already have it by email)

However - if i claim would this affect anything else like a house insurance renewal? Because i paid by credit card so i could do a charge back, but insurance seems a lot simpler after reading online. Obviously doing S75 would avoid the house insurance premium or something else going up.

Thanks in advance!!

It depends what question you're asked when taking out home insurance.

If it asks if you've made a home insurance claim, then it's no. If it asks about ANY claim, then yes.

Personally I would go through credit card just to avoid the insurance excess.

Generally Wedding Insurance does not cover for the couple to split up.

It's one of my favourite Insurance Terms "Disinclination"
