Can I cancel my TalkTalk direct debit if I'm due to be in credit shortly?

Hi,
I have had a long running complaint through the Ombudsman with TalkTalk. I am due to be credited £360 which has to be paid into my account by 12 August.
I have just received another bill for £43 which is a large amount and part of the reason why I raised my complaint. The direct debit will leave my account on 8 August.
Is it possible I can delay payment until the credit goes in? Could I cancel my Direct Debit at the bank to delay this? Or are they going to start chasing me from 8 August if they do not receive their money?

TalkTalk advise me I would pay £10 for late payment, and 50p for not using Direct Debit so it seems it probably isn't worth it. Sigh. Even the advisor admitted it wasn't the ideal situation.0
