Hello, please help
I have had a couple of years of incorrect bills from npower and no bill for a 6 month period. They took me to court for £2400 THEN SENT A LETTER SAYING WELCOME TO NPOWER THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING US.then occasional bills.they broke into my property say they had a warrant to change the meter to a pre payment no warrant was shown to me and began taking £5 weekly from the meter.I changed supplier the tariff was better it was to southern elect. the £5 stopped. there soliciter sent me a new court date along with a Tomlin order to sign this would prevent court. i signed it but found out they had seeked to put a charge on my property for the amount ( a letter arrived from the land registry) so i took the matter to be dealt with.i then decided to contact ofgem to seek help with regards the way n power has acted.there decision is that they cant help in anyway because its been to court..but this raised a new complaint with npower who sent a deadlock letter then i got a warning letter from the same solicitor who sent the original tomlin order saying i need to respond..now just recieved a court decision in npowers favour for £2400 plus £205 charges even though they have a charge on my property..question is can i sue the A..e off of them? they have pursed this debt although they have a charge for it on my property. please help thank you

Go to your local Citizens Advice Bureau .This is seriously complicated and not really suitable for random strangers on the web to help with.

If you have a legal charge placed on your property, then presumably the court agreed to it. You also mention a court judgement against you.

Your only possible option would be to seek an attempt to have the court now order it's removal. There may be a possibility to appeal against a court judgement.

Seek independent legal advice to uncover if you have any legal grounds to do so.

Edit: I see you asked about debts and charging orders 3 years ago when you first posted on this board, so you are not exactly naive to all this

And this first post 3 years ago came 3 years after you actually joined this site ... but welcome back after 2 years away :hello:

Npower did nt have to a "break into " your property if you would have allowed the prepayment meter to be fitted as most people do when they have a debt as high as £2500. You just made your debt £200 higher because they billed you for both locksmith and warrant costs. They surely would have had a warrant otherwise they could have been accused of breaking and entering, although they should have shown you the warrant on demand, even the Police always do that.
With that amount of debt Npower should have been putting the maximum amount of weekly debt repayment on the meter, that is £16.50 a week so only a fiver a week on your meter sounds like sounds like a good deal and its about the best payment plan you are likely to get.
The rules are that you can only switch suppliers with debts of under £500 on the prepayment meter so if you have broken that rule you can expect some other method of Npower to use to collect their money and a legal charge seems like the last resort.

thanks for your reply.my points are erratic billing no bills for 6 months, random bills with different amounts.but the point is they already have a charge on my property for the amount BUT THEN PURSUE THE DEBT AGAIN through Northampton court. is it not harassment or illegal? after an appalling billing system which is why the debt occurred in the first place

If you believe that then you need a solicitor not a forum that has little legal input .

6 months is not a long time to go without a bill. Did you call with a meter reading and request a bill? You should have still paid something towards what you would have used for your electricity and gas or kept it aside while under dispute. Do you dispute the amounts on the bills now or think they're wrong? You've really left it to go past the point of getting sorted. I would recommend you complete a statement of affairs and see if they will let you set up a payment plan.
