Advice please - repair to wooden bath ledge

In my bathroom I have a thin layer of tiles high up the wall and then from the bath another layer of tiles which has been built out. There is a thin wooden ledge at the top of this second layer of tiles.
Some of this ledge is now rotten, there is a hole and water is leaking through.
Is there any thing I can do for a quick repair myself, or will I need a joiner to rebuild the ledge?
Thank you
