IB & partners earnings

:T Hi I'm new to forum posting so hope this question not asked a million times before! Can someone give me an indication as to the amount of earnings my partner can have that would prevent me trying for incapacity benefit.

    IB is not means tested.

My husband gets that and DLA and I work full time.

I think that I am correct in saying that your lack of NI contributions will disqualify you from claiming IB.

I am sure someone will be along to either confirm this or put me in my place ;)

You do have to make enough NI contributions in the last two years before the claim.

Otherwise I believe that you might have to claim Income support which is means tested.

    Look here.

Just to confirm that you are right Tigtag that the lack if NI contributions would mean that IB would not be paid given the circumstances.
