Health insurance for travel in france

  • I think the tricky bit won't be getting insurance, but the length of the trip.

Most policies limit it to 30 days per trip.

Payingtoomuch.com has just insured an older family member with quite a lot of medical conditions. Maybe they'd be decent for you too? Also I'm younger than you but also have mc, and last year got decent cover from holidayrisk.com.
    I love France :)
Very interesting. Payingtoomuch, max stay 30 days, so not suitable for us. Holidayrisk, couldnt quote when I tried on line, will give them a try when I get back to UK

That still wouldn't help the OP, who is looking to travel for ~ 90 days.

  • Thanks for the info. EHIC has covered me in the past, and have 1500 euro bill from hospital a couple of weeks ago. My concern is Brexit in a couple of years. Death has already been covered, thanks for mentioning it

As I understand it the EHIC is a reciprocal agreement between countries so there's no reason why when Brexit comes about, the reciprocal agreement shouldn't stay.

I'm guessing that the EHIC will be one of the many issues to be negotiated.
