yorkshire bank credit card ppi

Options
Hey guys.

I just rang to start my ppi complaint with yorkshire bank for my credit card.
He asked me for national insurance number as part of this.

Is that right? I'm thinking they may use it to check my employment history.

What do you guys think?

    Does it matter?

  • No it doesn't. I was just wondering what they need it for. They said it was for tax because you pay tax on any money you get back

You pay tax on the interest element - though only now if you are a higher rate tax payer due to Osbourne's giveaway this year

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Hi I think maybe if you have had a savings account with them in the past (an ISA) then they would have your NINO on file. It was maybe just a security question. Good luck with your claim.

I have also made 2 claims to Clydesdale/Yorkshire bank. 1 for my mum and dad and 1 for my brother. I live in Glasgow (where the head office is based) and I understand they have staff on 24 hour shifts dealing with these complaints as they messed up big time and got a heavy fine.

They have rented office space at 177 Trongate which is actually Glasgow Housing Association offices to deal with information requests. The complaint team is based on Queen Street in Glasgow which is Barclays Stockbrokers and Royal Mail offices. So I am guessing their massive head office space also in Glasgow was not enough to deal with the mess they created.

Let me know how you get on and good luck again. :-)
  • Nothing sinister - you pay income tax on any interest paid if they compensate you, and this is deducted from your award.
