Buyers of used stamps
I'm looking for information on behalf of an organisation that has recently been granted charity status. Wrap Pyjama Fairies are wanting to start collecting stamps as a way of generating a little extra income. I've collected for other organisations before so understand the ins and outs of trimming, sorting etc but now need to now the best places to sell the stamps on to. Any pointers would be gratefully received.

Given that so little post has stamps these days, and there are less and less items posted as well, is there really any money in this now for a charity? Would a different fundraising avenue be more advantageous?0

Do you mean unfranked?0 -
I remember spending hours soaking and drying the things for Save the Children, way back in my school days. It was so labour intensive for such small reward, that it would have been better to do something else worthwhile with the time spent.0

The best place to sell is on eBay. I have been selling charity stamps for a few years on there. Expect to get between £15-40 per kilo.
Look at the other posts to get a feel for keywords etc. As a guide you need to label as unsorted kiloware and sell in kg.
Stamps sell best if unsorted and sold as received but don't include gold prepaid labels. Buyers get very any if they think they've been sorted.
Hope that helps.0 -
I help at our local clic shop and we sell unsorted used stamps for about £15.00 a kilo on E.bay. Charities don't pay the usual e.bay commission. People don't send a lot of letters these days so it can take some time to get a reasonable quantity.0
