Cheap Insurer for Learner?

Phew, despite living in a low risk area, being of a low risk age, having loads of yrs no claims, no convictions or claims against me, it's still gonna cost £500+ to add my 17 yr old son to the policy to get him some driving practice while he learns.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a company that specialises in this sort of policy?

I knew it would be costly, but wow, I'm knocked sideways!:eek:

Hi - if your policy is due for renewal soon try a quote from Liverpool Victoria to include your son.

An alternative is to take out cover for your son via clickthepepper.com.Your own policy continues and you buy cover by the week for your son to drive your car.It is a new scheme so I have no knowledge of service levels.Their FAQ's explain how it works.However Collingwood Insurance Company who are behind it have been in business for several years covering taxis and driving school cars.

You are right - L drivers are wallet busters!
