Hi,
We are considering purchasing a home which has a septic tank (quite common in the area as it's rural).
It would be our first and so I'm looking for an idea of roughly how much it costs to have one emptied?
Thanks
Jayne

Variable depending on size, and quality of job done. £80 is cheap, £100 fairly average, £150 not uncommon.
It might be worth having it inspected. A replacement can cost £6,000 these days, and you have to jump through environmental hoops. Or do work under cover of darkness, with night vision goggles and camouflage.0 -
I pay about £180 and it's done once a year. Some people have them emptied less often.0
