Hi,
My friend has just received her WCA letter for an appointment next Wednesday which seems very short notice ...
The problem is her CPN is off sick, hopefully back next week(maybe on a step up) and I don't think she would be able to attend without her.
Any suggestions of how to move forward ?
When her Pip assessment date came through her CPN phoned and arranged a suitable time as you only allowed to change the time once I believe.

I'd suggest phoning on Monday to explain the situation. Cancel but don't rearrange until you have confirmed the cpn will be able to attend. That's unless they're willing to hold the appointment on Wednesday and allow a late cancellation if necessary when you know if the cpn can attend. I've not been through this so I'm not sure whether they insist you rearrange immediately when you cancel. If that's the case say you'll leave it as it is for the time being and hope that the cpn is back and able to rearrange before Wednesday.0

Also write / email so she has evidence of a good reason if her ESa claim is terminated because she failed to attend the WCA.
Could you not go with her?
Is the WCA local to her, or does she have to travel?
I'd be cautious about cancelling the WCA see:

You are allowed to cancel once:

Best to find out when the CPN can accompany her first.0 -
