Just looking for pointers in the right direction please?
While having a loft clear out I found a load of my old TSB Mastercard statements dating from May 1990 up to Nov 2001 with payment insurance premiums totalling £724.62 over the 12yrs, which were variable amounts depending on the balance left.
I've been looking for a template letter on MSE that is relevant to older PPI claims where someone has proof of payments but to no avail, so if possible could someone find me a link to such letter template or give me an idea on how to word such a letter I would appreciate it as I'm not very good at such things.
Also in your opinion is it worth the effort for such an amount as above.

Just send a normal complaint detailing the reasons you believe the insurance was mis-sold to you.

There is no special template for older PPI complaints.

You should include copies of the statements you have found, but do realise that you will not be refunded simply because you can prove you paid for the insurance.

Was there something I read somewhere about if you were self-employed then payment protection insurance would have been void anyway? Or am I getting mixed up with what I've read on the AI scheme forum!

You need to send a valid complaint, some PPI did not cover the self-employed. You need to check if yours covered your specific circumstance and complain accordingly.

The complaint should go to Lloyds Banking Group, not TSB as the "new" TSB left the liabilities behind.

Be aware that simply having PPI does not in itself make it a missale.
