Surveys

Does anyone find these worth the time? Amount of times get half way through and it crashes or decides they have enough particapants so just goes back to start is a joke, or states takes 10 mins and never do.Or get about 3/4 way through and decide that you are not who they are looking for.

Plus most are unreleastic which the group they are looking for high managment type and then offering about 50p for 10 mins I doubt many really are that answer.

They really aren't worth it. Sign up with one of the big 3 (Appen, Leapforce, LionBridge) for decent work at home stuff. Pays well, some contracts have regular hours, and can provide a good second income.

DomRavioli- that's not true. You just need to sign up with the right survey companies. I signed up with all I could find initially and you soon learn which ones not to bother with! Good examples are: Pinecone (if you can get invited), IPSOS, PopulusLive, Newvistalive, Prolific and Swagbucks surveys are all WELL worth it.

I earn above NMW. There is absolutely NO survey company that can compare to that. I get regular hours, and a regular income stream from them.

SB - takes around a week to earn £5.
Pinecone - Very hit and miss, some weeks no surveys.
IPSOS - been with them 2 years and still not at £50 cash out.
PopulusLive - the odd 50p here and there.
Prolific - I get plenty through them, but its only £5 here and there. Not even every week.
NewVistaLive - takes months to get to £50.

With the above companies you can earn £50 in a day.

So yeah - care to actually justify your lies?
  • How long did it take you to get up to that level DomRavioli? And is it regular/constant?

I think it's down to personal opinion whether surveys are worth it. Many people seem to earn over 500 quid a year with them, and for some that might not be worthwhile but for others it is.
Perhaps demographics also play a part, because I've seen some people say that Populus is a very nice earner.

Nice work with those 3 you mentioned though, Dom.

I wish they would all tell you the topic, before you waste time on a survey.

I hate those about car buying and especially those on finance as the latter want too much information, which would take ages to establish. Also, the surveys are becoming very 'samey' ie supermarket usage, phone and entertainment, finance and utilities. Perhaps, being from a two person household and over 60 exempts me from the product trials ,which were interesting and lucrative.

I like YouGov surveys , as they are varied, short and never take lots of info then dump you, but one site, on a regular basis , lets you spend about half an hour, then while asking for your opinion of the survey, claims to suddenly have reached the target number and times out.

That's the standard wage for contracted regular hours jobs.

    Care to justify YOUR rudeness?

Survey sites aren't for everyone. But Wizzbang finds them lucrative as do many others. You don't.. so be it but being nasty is uncalled for.

I think its going to differ for everyone - but to say they are not worthwhile is pure poppycock and is certanly not lies.

I also earn (well) above NMW - and on average bring in around 100-150 a month from surveys, from, from on average 2-3 hours surveying a day. For me, in my personal situation, this makes a difference.

I think comparing it to a full time job is the wrong call. The full time job is the main income stream, always (apart from a few on here). Surveys are a supplemental bonus income stream that can prove extremely useful if finances are tight.

However, there are other ways, such as matched betting (which is more profitable, less time consuming and less boring - but requires you to have an initial lump sum of say, £50-£100).

Being told that surveys are just as profitable as the big three is a lie.

It would be if anyone had actually said that - but they didn't.

They're different potential revenue streams and the 'big three' as you call them are more like a second job that not everyone will qualify to do, nor want to give the same time commitment on a regular basis.

Surveys allow you to dip in and out but as has been pointed out there are some sites that are better than others in terms of revenue and the way they work.

So its a question of finding what works for the individual - whether for their available time, personal circumstances, skills etc. I hope the op now has a good list of decent survey sites and some alternative secondary employment options.
