Thursday 28th July- what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning frugal pals. Working from home today :j
Foxgloves I have some hypoallergenic children's suncream I can post to you if you want to PM me your address. There isn't anything wrong with it, it just takes ages to get loads out of the ineffective spray. My list for today:
Washing will be out when it's finished, currently washing on 30
Febreezed an item and its drying outside
DH to do tip run for things that are just not saleable or suitable for CS

Check banking, surveys and FPL
Lots of work whilst at home, check holidays I have booked for next few weeks and may move to make better use of them
Meals from stores/planner
Water tomato plant
Cancel subscription - didn't do this yesterday
Think that's it for now, check back later0 -
Morning PF and all who come thereafter,
My standard pay-day list;

Check free postcode lottery
Budget for August
Pay CC
Bring lunch and snacks to work
Exercise
I think that'll do me for now.
Have nice day everyone.0 -
Morning all,
I haven't posted for a while but read everyday and feel like we are really moving forward getting rid of the debt. Anyway todays list:
Check banks, fill in form for a new bank account (will help with money organising so that the main current account is just for bills)
Check budget folder
Cook from scratch from our meal planner
Post items sold on ebay
wash and dry outside , fingers crossed the rain stays away
go to Tesco, Hubbys favourite coffee on special offer. Just buy what is on my list as I can't get this at Aldi.
Down to 6 creditors on our DMP as paid number 7 in full yesterday:j
Have a good day allStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hello Thursday Savers,
Lots of money saving stuff going on here today. Here is the list:
*Harvested beetroot crop first thing - all in kitchen sink for playing with later this afternoon.
*Picked 600g homegrown tomatoes & another cucumber.
*Water greenhouse veggies - the rain is seeing to the outside ones.
*Signed loan contract for sending back today. Double-checked the monthly repayments & start date & put this info on my budget spreadsheet.
*My Big Budget Day today, so lots of financial jobs - Reconciled July's budget. All ok - just that grocery overspend. Still managed to pay locksmith without going overdrawn so nice to have that sorted out.
*Set August's budget. All straightforward. I'm used to this now & after trying 2 or 3 different methods, I've found what works for me.
*Paid CC in full, plus an extra £41-80 which is cat's vet bill earlier this week. It won't actually appear until next month's statement, but we had the money, so I thought I would pay it & get it out of the way.
*Set Savings Piggies amounts for this month. Still £100 sitting in the Clothes Piggy unused, so I haven't put anything else in that, have slightly cut the Household Piggy payment because I've promised mr f that we'll get his 3 IKEA storage units this month so I wanted to offset the cost of those.
*Wrote up new month's grocery spending sheet for my filofax.
*Read energy meters & uploaded monthly reading online (I get 50 Co-op dividend points each month for doing this & it keeps our account straight too).
*Recycled a couple of decent envelopes by putting large sticky labels over the address).
*Paid 2 x 50ps into my sealed pot.
*Put a leftover £5 from July's Personal Spends into my little secret tin.
*Rounded up small change & paid into our shrapnel tin.
*Did a few surveys.
*Entered 2 supermarket feedback prize draws
*4 competitions to do - will do this over a cuppa when I've finished messing about with the beetroot.
*Jacket potato night tonight. mr f has selected some leftoever chicken in gravy from the freezer & is going to use up miscellaneous veg. I'm going to use up the last of the goat's cheese with some of my lovely beetroot & a big homegrown salad.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Do 2 meal plans - 1 for next week as usual for the 2 of us, then another for the long weekend when we have guests. Have already re-thought lunch on one of those days which involved buying at least 4 things.......& will now be making something nice which only requires 1 item to be purchased. Sometimes it really is just these very small things which make a difference, as I reckon this tiny swap will save at least £8 - £10.
*Start shopping list.
*Knit a bit more of Mum's present
That's plenty for today. Time to go & tackle the beetroot.
Keep your hands on your pence, there's an awful lot of tat out there going 'Buy me, buy me. I am so awesome & I will make your life complete'..........pence back in your purse, friends, you know tat when you see it!
