You could offer the babies to an animal rescue, once they are weaned. (Some dog rescues will take other species)
Babies should be quite easy to rehome and so make the rescue a little income. The rescue is also likely to check the prospective home.0 -
I don't know if it is general but I have seen a notice saying staff are not trained to sex animals and they cannot be held responsible for mistakes.0

this has happened to me from a PAH pair purchased for what was then my daughters 8th birthday. This is what I did, I phoned head office and explained the situation. The man on the phone was brilliant and I mean that genuinely first class. He while I was on the phone emailed my local store telling them what happened. He said I could when passing pick up 10kg of food, a big hay bales, cage cleaner, a new bottles and a good amount of other things too all without paying a penny. Also I was able to borrow a cage from them which they honoured and of course I returned it afterwards.
This experience started me as a GP hobby breeder supported by my eldest daughter. GPs rarely have nay problems in delivery and it is very quick. The pups are born and within minutes they are up and about. They do not even take a feed from mum before doing this. They eats solids just as older GP do and love fresh grass. They grow daily and males need separating from Mum at 3 weeks to prevent what's happened to you. It is lovely to watch them grow.
While I realise you were not expecting a pregnant piggies im sure you'll love watching them grow as I have. Please speak to PAH customer services. Id be very surprised if they didn't reach out to help you. If you have any questions id be happy to help drop me a message. Just remember at the moment you piggie is going to be very hungry. 75% of her diet should be fresh grass. Hay is a second choice to this. Handle her as little as possible and congratulations.Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!0 -

Wow, I could not have hoped for a better answer! Thank you. I will phone them and see if they can help me out with the situation, and message you with questions ;D
To other posters: I have found a place for the babies to go already. I am mostly a little cheesed off with the shop. They still haven't called me, but I'll give them on monday and see.Compact living, sprouting, change checking, long distance SO, survey junkie

That's because they don't train their staff. It's not exactly difficult to sex animals when you know how. Unfortunately, they're fond of employing school/college leavers with very little experience.0 -

If a statement says staff are not trained then, yes, it would obvious that they do not train them.0 -
In this specific situation, the two pets that were bought were sexed correctly. We did however not check the rest of the animals in the same enclosure.
The person who assisted us seemed very capable in my opinion, and again, I do not blame her. My first guess would rather be that the pigs had been kept together with their siblings, regardless of sex, for too long after birth.
I consider the company fully responsible, not the staff at the specific location.Compact living, sprouting, change checking, long distance SO, survey junkie

Better late than never..:
Two healthy babies came out on the 9th of August - 1 male and 1 female.
I rang the shop up when it was time to separate the male from the females, and asked if they'd like to settle the matter by giving me a large cage and a male. I went and picked these up in store on the same day.
The little guy thankfully fell in love with his new friend immediately, and they moved out to a new home two weeks ago (friend of the family, I have promised to take them back if the friend can't care for them.)
I now have three lady pigs at home, and very pleased with how it all worked out despite complications.
Thanks again for all your support!Compact living, sprouting, change checking, long distance SO, survey junkie

Photographic evidence:
It's very embarrassing, but I don't know why the pics are upside down, and I'm too lazy to flip them...
Girl, few hours old.
Boy, 3 weeks old.
Two weeks old - the brown ones. Starting from bottom: Poopy (mother,) Half Butt (son,) Charli (daughter) and Fiffi (...aunt?)
Poopy sneaks Bamse, 8 weeks not related male, a little kiss before him and Half Butt moved out.
Charli has had her hair cut recently, kitchen scissors-style. 6 weeks.
Just a quick one of Fiffi enjoying herself... This one is definitely not preggers - just REALLY fat.Compact living, sprouting, change checking, long distance SO, survey junkie
