Has anyone done Inheritance Tax online?

The reason I ask is one of the questions on the probate application form is about whether you've done an Online Inheritance Tax Summary.

I've more or less finished completing the paper IH forms (IHT400 and associated forms). However I'd prefer to do it online - I just can't seem to find it anywhere. I'm already signed up for Self Assessment Online.

I can answer my own question, in case anyone else needs to know. I spoke with HMRC this morning and Inheritance Tax Online is still in testing (despite it being referred to as though it was already live in the PA1 Probate form).

I'm guessing it's still not live as I haven't been able to find it either!

I have completed the IHT forms online twice, once for dad last november and once for mum just now. Its easy to get on to it, just phone HMRC and they will send you a link by email. There are also PA forms that you can fill in electronically too (PDFs)

I believe you can only submit the summary online if you are already registered for self-assessment online.

Otherwise, all the forms can be downloaded from the HMRC site and the probate forms from the HMCT site. They can be filled in on your computer but will then have to be printed and posted.

The online form is active now
HMRC web site
but with a lot of caveats on its use. The official term is still "beta". Shame, so I've filled in the PDFs and am now printing a forest of forms.
