How much do you spend on your mobile each month calling numbers starting 01, 02, 03, 071-075 and 077-079, and what proportion of those calls are made while you are sat at home?

My Virgin is around £33 month for 100meg/landline.

If you have enough minutes/monthly contract mobile then there are free apps you can download for 0800/0845 etc numbers.

Calls to 0800 and 0808 numbers have been free-to-caller on mobile phones since 1 July 2015. No app required.

Since 13 June 2014, retailers, traders and passenger transport companies have been required to use 01, 02, 03 or 080 numbers for after-sales enquiries.
Since 26 October 2015, banks, card companies and insurers have been required to use 01, 02, 03 or 080 numbers for contact by existing customers.
Since 26 December 2013, government departments and their agencies and other public sector bodies have been told to use 01, 02, 03 or 080 numbers.
As such there should be almost zero occasions when an 084 or 087 number has to be called. Check official websites for the new numbers.

The question asking how many calls are made to landlines, 03 numbers and mobiles on your mobile phone while sat at home was leading to the point that rather than paying £20 or £30 or more per month to a mobile provider for these calls, landline providers (except BT) now offer this for around £8 per month.

Changes made by Ofcom over the last few years means that (in most cases) it is no more expensive to call a mobile number than to call a landline number or 03 number.

So did you order the Sky+ deal via MSE then before it was installed call sky to add phone and broadband at which time they offered you Sky Q instead?

Yes, I rang through to sales to add broadband and then they said they could beat the offer. The only thing really I lost on the MSE offer was movies as I hadn't gone for the sports pack too but I have movies on Now tv anyway which isn't costing that much so made no difference to me. You just need to get someone decent that knows how to make the right deductions. The lower £10 for the first 6 months is reduced off the sky fibre I can recall that. They just reduced the q packages down to 12 months so I guess sales team are on a push to get more people signed up

The Outbound Team that calls you when you have put in a disconnection is currently not online.

They are on the inbound Customer Relations lines because its busy with the price increase and people wanting to leave.

Also the company is currently in the middle of a 90 day consultation with staff, so lots happening in the company at present.

I've just cancelled my kahuna bundle and moved to sky after years with virgin. Originally went for the MSE offer but I've had issues with my VM broadband too so after taking to someone at sky swapped broadband too.

Sky Q 2tb box with additional mini box (every other room we can log in via the apps) with sky family and boxsets added. Sky fibre unlimited with sky line rental and sky talk anytime extra. £33.41 for the first 6 months and £43.41 for the last 6 months of a 12 month contract total installation costs where £10.

Just spent about an hour and a half on Sky chat regarding this deal. They couldn't (or wouldn't :) ) match it. Best they could do for me was the same deal, £39.40 for the first six months and £49.40 for last six months of 12 month contract. Installation fees are £69.

Obviously not as good a deal as you got, but I still think it's much better than I'm currently paying with Virgin so I've signed up to it. Then called Virgin to give my 30 days notice. The advisor asked what deal I'd been given and said they couldn't come anywhere near that price unfortunately.

There's a thread on HUKD about the MSE code offer and some of the posters appear to have had better offers than I posted. I guess it's just a case of getting hold of the right person from sales each time so they can add things in a certain way to create different discounts. Maybe worth a look if you haven't had it installed yet as there seems to be a few cashbook offers too with the people that figured out the best way to put the package together online and reduced the bill further.

Had Q installed although still waiting for the broadband etc so my estimated bills at the minute are only at £12

If there is I can't find it. I can't find anyone who got a better deal than you got. I wonder if the higher installation cost I have to pay is due to the fact that I'll need a new BT master box and line.
