Bark Collars?

I'm not a fan of these, in fact I hate them on dogs but I have no choice but to use one on one of my foster dogs.
I go to work part time, i'm away for 3 and a half hours. One dog barks constantly says my neighbour
If I don't do something quick then the dog will have to go back to the pound and death row because I can't risk my Landlord banning me having dogs or I wouldn't be able to foster anymore and i'd rather put a bark collar on then see her back in the pound.
My local pet shop is expensive so does anyone know the cheapest place online to get one?

Oh I saw some very cheap recently... can't remember where.... when I remember (no doubt at 3am) I will post! sorry!
Does he have enough toys to chew on? Or tried leaving a radio on?0 -
Hi
I leave the radio on and yes she has a Kong chew. She is left in her dog crate so I can't leave chews inside for safety reasons. She just doesn't shut up. We don't know about her past because she was left tied up in a park.0 -
Poor wee soul. How about covering the cage? and a treat ball? can't get wedged as easily.
Think it was my local vet that I saw the bark collers, NO! Argos! http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0351797/Trail/C%24cip%3D1500006333.Garden%2C%2BDIY%2Band%2Bleisure%3EC%24cip%3D1500006362.Petcare%3EC%24cip%3D1500006368.Pet%2Baccessories.htm0 -

Yikes £40 quid  I was hoping they would be cheaper then that
I've tried covering her crate, she just pulls whatever is on it inside :rolleyes:0 -
Not seen them cheaper than that anywhere. But when you think £65 from pet shop!
Ones online are about the same, £36.99 for the smaller ones, but add in delivery...0 -
You can't use an anti bark collar fairly in a multi dog household as the other dogs barking can set it off, which defeats the point and possibly adds to the dogs distress.
Is there another fosterer who could take this dog on?Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -

Hmm never thought of that
The rescue has 14 foster carers and 39 dogs, some carers have 3 dogs and some can only have one. There isn't enough foster carers available.
I've let them know and they are working on moving her but it may have to be back in kennels because i have to think of the neighbours.0 -
Primrose London website do anti-bark collars that work on vibration (i.e. the vibration of the throat of the dog that is actually barking, hence no other barking from another dog will set it off). Haven't used one though so can't remark on how effective they are.0

We had bark collars for ours briefly, cheapy ones from ebay £3 or £4 each, the ones that make a high noise NOT the shock ones (wouldn't ever use one of them) and yes the noise of the other dog barking set them off. You could see the look on the dogs face as if to say, I didn't do anything Mum!!!
Good luck2 angels in heaven :A0 -
