OH was in a car accident in Marvh and has been off work since and will be for the foreseeable future.
His SSP is due to end soon what do we do next? I started the application for PIP just waiting for an assessment date.
Are we able to claim anything else if so how do we start claiming? I have looked on the Gov website and was getting a little confused tbh so any guidance would be much appreciated
TIA x

ESA usually takes over from SSP. You can start the claim off over the phone. Maybe run your circumstances through one of the benefits calculators such as turn2us to get an idea if there's anything else.
Are you homeowners or do you rent? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Your OH may well be eligible for contributory ESA if you don't qualify for income based benefits

He needs to get a claim for ESA started as soon as he has a definite date for SSP ending. His employer has to provide a form SSP1 to show when SSP ends.
Assuming he has an entitlement to ESA Conts based, that will run for a maximum of 12 months unless he is put in the Support Group in which case it is indefinite.
Even if there is no entitlement to Contribution base benefit he will receive National Insurance credits towards his pension, so should claim anyway.0
