Are My new British Gas Meter's Smets 2

New gas and electricity meters installed recently Will they be smets 2 ?

    I very much doubt it.......the last i heard SMETS 2 wasn't wasn't likely to be introduced until the summer of 2017

    MeterMan have you any idea what model number a SMETS2 electric meter will show ? , and what has to be added to the E470 to make it SMETS2 compliant ?
    Maybe it just needs an internal change on the module in the meter and could even be updated without exchanging the meter.

    Its not smets2 unfortunately. I have not yet heard of any small scale trials for fitting smets2 either.

    I believe its a physical change in meter, because all this stuff is still in the air, i think its very cloak and dagger.

    I have been told that the meter is much quicker to commission, and more like the 2b meters to commission than the current batch. Also been told that the communication hub is attached to the meter, but can be removed if the installer needs to do so.
